OXE Diesel Outboard Key Advantages

Diesel

The common rail turbocharged diesel engine provides high efficiency and torque. This results in powerful thrust and acceleration, with the capacity to carry heavy loads.

The engine runs on a large variety of fuels: EN 590, ASTM D 975 No. 1 and No. 2, JIS KK 2204, F54 and F75.

Environment

The use of highly refined, modern automotive-based engine technology significantly reduces the fuel consumption and provides for industry-leading emission levels and subsequent minimized impact on the environment, significantly reducing not only CO2 but also CO1, HC and NOx – setting new standards for internal combustion engines within the global outboard engine industry.

The emission levels are approved by EPA TIER III, IMO TIER II (MARPOL VI TIER 2), RCD and CCS.

Safety

Diesel is a less flammable fuel and therefore much safer to work within all working environments. Robust design, low-Speed Control and quick-shift capability lead to safe operation in adverse conditions. The OXE Diesel is designed to be safe in any environment.

Maintenance

Easily accessible service points and a modular design create a user-friendly product. Fast interchangeable gear ratio allows for specific performance requirements. The reliable automotive powerhead keeps costs of maintenance and spare parts low. Longer service intervals ensure fewer disruptions in engine usage, increasing operational profitability and productivity

Range

Due to significantly lower fuel consumption than a comparable modern outboard, the OXE Diesel offers the market unprecedented range, enabling users to not only reach further but also giving the ability to refuel from larger diesel-powered vessels or marine-based platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions about OXE Diesel Outboards

The OXE Diesel Outboard is an out board motor designed and built for the marine industry. Outboards power a large variety of vessels from center console fishing boats, government patrol craft, commercial fishing vessels, barges, tug boats and ferries. The OXE was designed as a commercial product.  This means it is more durable and has a longer lifespan then traditional gasoline outboards when properly maintained.

OXE is headquartered in Sweden. OXE 125-200hp outboards are assembled in the United States as of February 2021. OXE 300hp outboards are assembled in Poland.

There is no denying the OXE Diesel Outboard is more expensive then traditional gasoline outboards of similar horsepower but the cost can be offset by fuel savings and product longevity. Pricing is similar to that of diesel inboards. For pricing please contact one our sales/service dealers found here, or give us a call.

  • The 125-200hp OXE Diesel Outboard Burns about 9-12 gallons per hour while at wide open throttle
  • The 300hp OXE Diesel Outboard burns about 18 gallons per hour while at wide open throttle

Exact Fuel Burn charts can be found above on the individual product spec sheets.

  • The OXE 125hp makes approximately 277ft lbs of torque at 2500rpm
  • The OXE 150hp & 175hp make approximately 280ft lbs of torque at 2500rpm
  • The OXE 200hp makes approximately 306ft lbs of torque at 2800rpm
  • The OXE 300hp make approximately 455ft lbs of torque at 1750rpm

Full torque curves can be found in the spec sheets above.

  • The OXE 125-200hp models weight 771lbs
  • The OXE 300 weights 871lbs
  • The 125-200hp models come with a 1.73:1 high speed ratio and 2.17:1 high torque ratio. Ratios can be changed by rotating the upper belt assembly.
  • The 300hp model comes with a 1.39 ratio
  • All OXE Diesel Outboards come in a 25” or 33” shaft length

The OXE diesel outboard is a heat exchanged motor. No raw water is passed through the block.

The OXE can be up to 40% more fuel efficient than a traditional gasoline outboard of the same horse power.
